Inner West Eistddfod
Welcome
This year 2022 will be the thirty eigth performance of the Inner West Eisteddfod and this important cultural event has
grown from small beginnings in 1985 with less than 100 entrants to over 500
aspiring artists taking part. The Inner West Eisteddfod gives an opportunity
for many performers either solo or in groups to showcase their talents and to
learn from the expert adjudication provided by experienced professionals in
their respective fields.
A small but dedicated group of volunteers work
tirelessly to continue to provide an opportunity for our aspiring young artists
to showcase their talents.
The Marcus Edwards Violin
Prize was established by his widow,
the noted composer &
Burwood NSW resident, the late
Dr Miriam Hyde AO, OBE.
Marcus Edwards was a passionate violinist, a craftsman of violin design and was
a founding member of the Strathfield Symphony Orchestra. The Edwards family gave concerts in their
Burwood Heights home to raise funds for local charities.
The IWE Inc. is grateful for
the continued support of this event by the
Edwards family.
